Stayin’ Alive…

Clinically speaking, I am, in fact, alive.

Okie dokie, humans! Quick update on the insanity that is currently my life.

I’m working on edits for my sci-fi series. They’re coming along well, and I’m getting a lot done, but I’m also learning why most people *don’t* choose to edit multiple books at once. In short, it’s kind of a nightmare in the best possible sense, haha, because I’m currently partially about 70-75% of the way through Draft 2 (for all six books combined), but I am also getting feedback and making plans for Draft 3 now that beta reads have started. It makes me feel rather messy and a little bit scattered, but I keep reminding myself I can only do one thing at a time, and it will be better if I finish the draft I’ve started before I start over again.

I think in the future, I’ll continue to do it this way, though, because I’m really liking how—while I am creating individual arcs for each of the books—all the details are being pulled together and it’s really becoming a more solid story. It’s one of the most satisfying parts of writing a book, and when I’m not panicking and wishing I had more time, I’m really enjoying myself.

Bottom line, I think next time I do this, I’ll just give myself longer to work on each installment, but overall it’s a positive experience. If only life didn’t keep reminding me of inconvenient truths like “day jobs” and “dentist appointments.”

But we move on. 😀 And life is pretty great.

Onward and upward!
