I mean, technically I’ve been doing this for more than 3 weeks, so…
(Maybe the secret is to actually put it onto my publication calendar, hahaha. Or just follow what it says in my planner. Y’know.)
Well, well, well! It’s May! I feel like I have done absolutely nothing. This is not true, of course. I am working on Draft 4 and 5 of Book 5, which means I’m progressing wonderfully through all of these books, and I was able to go to Storymakers in Provo, Utah last weekend, which is always a pleasure. This does mean that I have been slower at editing the last two weeks, but sometimes any progress is a lot of progress, especially when doing worthwhile other things. I’m holding onto that.
Other than that, I had the startling realization that I am not a hobby writer like I always assumed. This is probably pretty silly for everyone who knows me, but for the first time, during a WONDERFUL class by Jennifer Neilsen, I realized that I am, in fact, a career author. I’d been confusing being a part-time author with someone doesn’t necessarily want to or care about being published. That’s just not true. I plan on keep on writing and publishing and sharing my stories for as long as I possibly can. Moral of the story: Don’t sell yourself short just because your path looks different than everyone else’s.
Welp, that’s it for now. I’ve been running around all day, and now I must go back to folding my laundry, haha.
Onwards and upwards!
