Help. I’m stuck in a time warp.
You’d think considering the fact that I am here every day, and I haven’t had any surgeries, comas, or anything that would affect my ability to tell time whatsoever happen to me, I would be able to keep track of what day it is.
Unfortunately, this is inaccurate.
I was genuinely shocked today to realize that it is the 27th, and I should have posted a blog post about 3 days ago. Oh well. Here I am, and here we go.
The Man From Delwaphria:
GLOBAL EDITS ARE FINIIIIIISHED!!!! Aside the fact that I’ve worked on it almost every day, have been thinking and stressing constantly about it, and have it almost literally running the majority of my life, it’s almost a shock to have it done. Almost.
Now, it’s just a matter of pressing forward anyway. Global edits are basically for the wide / global view of plot and character arcs. Now that I’m done with those, I can go in with a fine tooth comb and make sure everything is all tightened up the way that I want it, and that make sense for everyone. This means even more work, but I’m used to it by now.
Something fun that has happened this month was because I was waiting for everyone’s feedback on Book 1 and Book 6 (the books currently experiencing the most scrutiny right now) (thank you to everyone who has helped me out–you have been magnificent) I wrote the majority of another book. It’s not a sci-fi, it’s actually a romance (a genre that I haven’t written before) and it’s been a really fun break. Drafting is probably my favorite part, and this has been a good exercise in trying something new, and having fun while doing it. It’s also been really good because previously I was not confident in my ability to 1) write a romance and 2) draft and edit two different projects at the same time. I have found I CAN do those things, and it has opened up a lot of opportunities before me. When will this romance come out? No clue. If I’m really crazy, I might try to do it next year, but I’ll probably wait until Delwaphria gets released first. #sanity.
Other than that, I am gearing up to go to Fan-X again! Built By Barnes is running a booth this year again, and as always, it’s a blast to go to help her out. I am going to be there (on release day for Book 1!) but please be aware that I will not be selling books because it is not my venue, and I have not filed for the sales permit. But I CAN sign books, and I will bring my bookplates and stickers along for those who come and see me.
WHAT you ask? Stickers???
YES.
I have commissioned sticker art for all of my main characters thus far. We will have Trillion, Wednesday, Giselle, and Konstantin from Wednesday’s Book, Margot and Tam from Oak and Ivy, and James, Annie, and Shen from The Man From Delwaphria. For now these are not for sale anywhere, but come and see me and there’s a good chance that you can walk away with one. 🙂
Looking forward, now that I’m done with universal edits, I am focusing on making sure that all of the details and character arcs are consistent with what I’ve set up. This largely will mean going over the beginning ad nauseam, because beginnings are hard, and I have been lazy. I will also be finishing the romance (hopefully by the 31st, but as with all of my novels, this one has had Development, so it might be a couple of days longer) and beginning my prep work for publication!
If you want to see some of the quotes that I have from Delwaphria and a preview of some of the stickers, you can head over to my Instagram (which is @rebekahisertauthor). I’m most active on there, but I also have an author profile on Facebook.

I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful month!
Onward and Upward!
