The author emerges!
It seems kind of unfair to keep this short because I feel like I have been completely MIA for the last couple of weeks, but here I am! Episode 2, Recruit, comes out on SATURDAY (the 21st, in case you see this later!) Along with being the continuation of The Man From Delwaphria Series, it is also another massive benchmark in this crazy project years in the making.

I don’t want to get too philosophical, but it’s a little strange (in a good way) to finally be sharing these books with the world. After my insecurity for Book 1 (which I’ll probably share in depth later, but it’s pretty what it says on the tin) releasing Recruit has been remarkably stress-free–to the point where I have been wondering if there’s something important that I have forgotten. So far, I can’t think of anything, but if we get to release date and I’ve forgotten the page numbers or something (I haven’t. I’ve checked. So many times) you’ll know that it’s just me and my scattered brains.
I am SO very excited to share this book with you, though! We’re starting to get into the meat of the story, and really getting to know our characters. I can’t wait for you to grow to love these people like I do.
In other news, I have been tinkering on a genre romance book that I wrote during July. I’ve had a couple of people read it, and they’ve been very enthusiastic about me finishing it up, which is very nice to hear. I can’t promise publishing date next year (please go easy on me, the other four Delwaphria books will be published then) but when I figure it out, I will be sure to let you guys know.
I’ve also been tinkering around on two very different projects (One is a PI story in a hopefully alternate future NYC, and the other is an epic fantasy) and while I haven’t started drafting those, they’ve started poking at me enough that I think it might be pretty soon. (For those of you not in the know, I write the book when I’m ready, otherwise suffering happens. Mostly mine.)
As far as the rest of my life goes, the Day Job (yes, I still have one, haha. And I’m still loving it) takes quite a bit of time, but it’s going well. I’m also in charge of teaching the children’s classes in my church. It is a wonderful experience (no matter how rowdy they are–I secretly love it) but it has the unfortunate side effect of making sure I get every cold, cough, and flu that’s going around. I seem to have come into a good routine of regular basic hygiene, and a couple more extra measures, but I have found that sleep (gasp) has a 100% accuracy rate of shortening the duration of my illnesses. I’m not a doctor, and this is not medical advice, but… well, turns out Mom was right.
All in all, though, life is great! 4 Days until Recruit!
Onward and Upward!!!
