You’d think that releasing a book would help me remember to update the blog. Apparently not.
To be fair, I have been working hard to manage my stress, but that means with all the things I did remember, something had to go, haha. But it wasn’t because I don’t love you guys, promise.
So, without further ado:
WELCOME TO THE WORLD, RENEGADE!

For those who haven’t already read Renegade, click Here to read it now!
For those who haven’t started the series, click Here to start with Rescue!
You guys have already shown SO much support, and it has been absolutely wonderful. I’ve taken the last couple of weeks to myself, but I will start on working on Book 4 soon!
Here’s what the release of Book 3 means:
- We are halfway through the series! Yay!
- The releases will be slowing down. See below for a more in-depth explanation.
- The action is ramping up!!!
Now, like I said, I am slowing down releases. Where I was previously planning on releasing (and releasing) each book three months apart, my team and I have decided to lengthen that out to six to eight months apart. This means that Rendezvous, Delwaphria Book 4, will come out September 6th of this year.
There are two reasons for this. The first is that I’m very, very tired, and that is making it very difficult to manage my stress. I have clinical anxiety (woo hoo! (?)) and fatigue is the easiest way to trigger that.
I’ve found as I’ve been writing and releasing these books that not as many people read science fiction, especially an unfinished series. Because riding the high of external validation of high readership and endless feedback and deriving my energy from that is not an option for me, it has been a great chance to do a self-evaluation, work on self-validation and continue working on the books how they need to happen. Overall this has been great for me both on a personal and authorial level, but it’s different than I anticipated, and has different energy needs.
By lengthening the release dates out, it gives me more time where I can physically (and emotionally) recoup between releases, and thus not only makes my brain healthier, but my books better. There’s a thin balance between thriving and being crushed under pressure, and I was a little too close to the wrong side of that for comfort.
The second reason is that with this added time, I can also start tinkering on other projects. Now, obviously, the priority is to release the Delwaphria books, but my favorite part of the drafting process is the first draft, where I get to experience the story for the first time, and rather than spend time I don’t have for that, I decided to make time.
This clearly will slow down the release of books 4, 5, and 6 of Delwaphria, but this is done in the effort to make sure 1) the books are the best they can be and 2) I’m mentally capable of finishing this series.
On the more positive side of things:
I am going to Storymakers this year!!! This is a wonderful writer’s conference in Provo, UT from May 8th through 10th. It’s my sixth year going, and I am so excited to meet up with old friends, learn new things, and get a pep talk or two to keep going.
I will also be attending the GemState 208 Market in Kuna, Idaho to sell books! I will be there two days, September 13th and October 11th, and it’ll be way fun to meet everyone. Come say hi while you’re in the area!
Life is good, and I’m taking steps to make it better! 😀
Take care, everyone! Onward and Upward!
